Butterfly

Mesmerized by her beautiful wings
With patches of yellow and blue
and mix of myriad hues
Beguiling me in a chase
Like a child in the wild.
From flower to flower she moves
to give and to take
for mutual sake
and so do I,
To catch her and never let her fly.
With gleaming eyes
For she was my coveted prize.
I close in, then trip
She gives me a slip
I pump my fist in the air
and sigh
as she hops onto another flower
Life, she is a butterfly.
